July - L.A. Summer
Me
I went to Los Angeles for three weeks in July. I stayed in a Travelodge on Santa Monica Boulevard; just up the street from Beverly Hills, and miles and miles away. Santa Monica Pier is a huge dock with an amusement park on it. Complete with roller coaster, carny arcade, colorful locals, and tourists. I watched the Mets beat the Dodgers one hot Sunday afternoon in intimate Dodger Stadium. The Dr. Seuss trees were in the parking lot. We spent another hot day at Universal Studios. My highlight was the Jurassic Park ride where I got a much needed drenching. At the end I yelled "Let's go again, lets go again," over and over with the little girl sitting next to me.
